Private Vocal Tutorials
Students of all levels of experience are welcome to enroll in Private Vocal Tutorials. Students will collaborate with their Instructor to set goals and choose materials that suit their vocal style. Instructors will guide students through a variety of vocal techniques to build students vocal strength and improve confidence as a solo performer.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will have a better understanding of vocal technique across multiple genres, including vocal warm-ups, pitch/range and breathe control.
- Students will build vocal strength by exploring material within multiple genres
- Students will develop an understanding of solo performance by analyzing emotion, interpretation and vocal phrasing.
- Students will build a repertoire of suited to their vocal style
Private Acting Tutorials
Students of all levels of experience are welcome to enroll in Private Acting Tutorials. Students will collaborate with Instructor to set goals and choose materials that suit their acting style. Instructors will guide students through a variety of acting techniques to build students understanding of becoming a character and improve confidence as a solo performer.

- Expose students to various methods of Acting technique
- Build physical and intellectual responses to text
- Improve confidence for live performance
- Tailor lessons to student specific needs and acting style
- Set personalized goals for each student
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will develop an understanding of becoming a character through the study of text, and how their character is impacted by the “world of the play”
- Students will develop an understanding of how to build their character through movement and vocal exercises
- Students will learn to make clear choices for their characters by analyzing the emotional and intellectual content of the text
- Students will build a repertoire of contrasting characters
Students will have a better understanding of various acting techniques.
Book a half hour one-on-one coaching with Ken Chamberland to work through a song for an upcoming show, audition or focus on fundamentals to sharpen your skills.
Tutorials with Ken are available Wednesday from February 12th – June 25th from 4:30pm – 5:00pm, 5:00pm – 5:30pm, 5:30pm – 6:00pm, 6:00pm – 6:30pm.
Students should come prepared with sheet music to their tutorial but may ask Ken for suggestions about material for future coaching.

Ken Chamberland
Ken Chamberland holds a Masters in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University along with a teaching degree and a High Honours degree from the Sheridan College Music Theatre Performance program.
Ken believes in balancing the voice to provide students an opportunity to improve and expand their vocal toolbox. He follows solid belcanto vocal pedagogy by Cornelius L. Reid as well belting and creating mixed voices.
Some of Ken’s performing highlights include Peter Quintin Turn of the Screw (Grand River Opera Company), Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (KWMP), Michael in Tick, Tick, BOOM! (Angelwalk Theatre), Matthew in the Toronto debut of Altar Boyz (Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts), chorus in Aida with the Canadian Opera Company (Four Seasons), Frankie in Plaid Tidings (Neptune Theatre), Jack Scott in High School Musical (Drayton Entertainment), Prince Charming with Disney Cruise Lines, and Frederic in Pirates of Penzance (Operetta Confidential, 2017).
